This male editorial photoshoot took place inside a historic palace in Turin. Dogukan’s simple styling worked naturally with the formal interiors, while the architecture, natural light and deep shadows created the monochrome atmosphere of the series. The aim was to keep the images cinematic and understated, with the space playing an important role alongside the subject.
A Monochrome Portrait
The historic interiors offered a variety of strong compositions, from the monumental staircase and stone balustrades to the arches and smaller architectural details.
Shooting in black and white brought more attention to the structure of the images. Textures and geometry became more pronounced, while the absence of colour kept the series visually consistent.
The changing light throughout the interiors also created natural variations between softer and more dramatic frames. Working with these differences helped shape the mood of the series and added depth to the portraits without relying on heavy styling or artificial effects.
